AECP Level 2 Impressive Heat Embossing

Hello all! I am here today with my submission for the Altenew Educator Certification Program (AECP) level 2 class, Impressive Heat Embossing, with Svetlana Marchenko. I loved this class. Heat embossing did not always come so easy to me, but I definitely feel more comfortable with it after this class.

I began by cutting 2 pieces of 110 lb. cardstock, one gray and one white, to an A2 size. I then took the stamps from the Altenew Leaf Canopy set and arranged them in my Misti Stamping tool. I began with the white piece of cardstock. I inked the stamps with Altenew crisp dye ink in Industrial Diamond. After I inked one side, I flipped the cardstock upside down, and stamped the same image on the other side. I did ink and stamp 3 times to get a nice dark grey impression.

After this, I aligned the gray cardstock in my Misti, and used my antistatic tool on the side I was stamping first. This time I stamped the images with Versa Mark clear embossing ink (remember to wipe your stamps clean in between). I then covered with clear embossing powder from Recollection and heat embossed. One tip that I really found helpful in this class is to let your heat tool warm up for about a minute. When it is nice and hot, you warp your cardstock less.

After I repeated this process on the other side, I took one of my stitched rectangle dies from Lawn Fawn, and die cut the gray panel. I then aligned it on top of the white stamped panel.

Once I knew it lined up well, I chose a sentiment from the Altenew Leaf Canopy set and placed the gray panel back in my Misti stamping tool. I stamped the sentiment in the center of the panel with Versa Fine ink in black onyx. I then realigned the panel, and adhered with Scotch foam tape. Once this was done, I adhered the entire panel to my 110 lb. A2 cardstock base.

I really enjoyed this class, and I love the way the card turned out. I would definitely make a card like this again. It was fairly easy to make and put together, yet the technique itself makes it look so elegant!

Thanks for stopping by!
