AECP Level 2 Polychromatic

Hello crafty friends! I am here today with another card submission as part of my exciting AECP journey. This one is for the Polychromatic class with Nina-Marie Trapani. For this class, I chose to focus on lesson one primarily- white with pops of color. I also used the in laid die cutting technique for this card too.

I thought the Billowing Blossoms set would be super cute for this card (and it's one of my favorites!). I chose my color scheme of pinks, purples, yellows, and oranges (specific colors listed below).

To begin, I took an A2 panel made from 110 lb. white cardstock. I randomly stamped the 2 different blossoms in various colors until I was happy with the placement. After this, I took the Altenew Mega Friends die and placed it on the panel. Once I got the placement right, I taped it to the panel with some washi tape and ran it through my Cuttlebug (yes, I really do still have an old Cuttlebug lol!). I then die cut 2 more from plain white cardstock so that I could adhere them together for a bit of added dimension to the panel.

Once I adhered these together I added it back into the panel. For the inserts of the letters, I used only one layer so that they would appear to be recessed into the card. I really like how this panel turned out, but it still needed a little something. I decided to add some splatters in the background with my Altenew watercolors, and then some matching rhinestones for a little bling.

Once I was happy with how it looked, I adhered the panel to an A2 card base.

Nina demonstrated so many wonderful techniques in this class, it was really hard to choose which one to try for my submission, but I am really happy with the results. It gave me a bit more confidence in choosing lots of colors for one card, and using the white space in the background to highlight the colors.
