Altenew Anemone stamp
I started this card after seeing a video on You Tube from Altenew using this set. I used the Altenew Anemone stamp set on Canson 140 lb. cold pressed watercolor paper. The image was stamped with Versamark Onyx black ink. I also used the Altenew watercolor set of 24 which I just got. I was looking for a good pan set of water colors and was having trouble deciding but am really happy I went with this one. I love the colors, they are so rich and pigmented.
For the flowers, I used a mixture of Shades of purple as well as red sunset. For the leaves I used green meadows, green hills, and tropical forest.

I then colored in the background with Jet black, using the watercolor refill bottle. I simply poured some into a watercolor pen that I had, and colored the entire background with it. This is 4 coats! I still really could not get it to appear solid...you can still see some of the brush strokes and I am not sure why but I like the way it turned out nonetheless. I splattered some white paint on it and then went over those with a Gelly Roll #10 pen. I cut the center out and then adhered a piece of white 110 lb. cardstock to the back of the painting. I made the inner rectangle slightly smaller because I wanted to be able to see the white form underneath. I adhered the center rectangle with some Scotch foam tape. I then adhered the entire piece to a 4 1/2 x 6" white cardstock base made from 110 lb. cardstock from Michaels.

I stamped the sentiment on white 65 lb. cardstock from Michaels and embossed with Recollections fine black embossing powder. I adhered this with another piece of Scotch foam tape and the card was done! This one was a lot of work but it was fun. I think I will do another one but not color the background black and see how that turns out!
