Make the Card Challenge #22
Hey fellow card makers! I am here today with a card that I created for the Make the Card Challenge #22. Thanks to my friend Kim for introducing me to these challenges! I am a little embarrassed to say that this is my first one!
This weeks challenge was to use a tropical color scheme. I was really excited because I immediately thought of my Altenew Fairy Tales Floral stamps. It is one of my favorites as it is large enough to nicely watercolor with.

I started with an A2 sized panel of Canson cold press watercolor paper. I stamped the image with my Misti stamping tool, using the Altenew Fairy Tales Floral stamp set. I used VersaFine embossing ink and embossed with Brutus Monroe embossing powder in Alabaster.
I then got to work painting these flowers! I used both the Altenew 24 pan set of water colors as well as the 12 pan set of water colors (nice free gift with an order awhile back!). I mixed Warm and Cozy, Fiery Sunset, and Warm Sunshine together. I took my paintbrush and added some water to the flowers, being careful but not too careful LOL. Embossing the image gives you a nice little well so the water doesn't run outside of the image.
After this, I used Forest Glades and Tropical Forest on the leaves. For the background, I used Lagoon from the 12 pan set. I went a little more intense next to the flower edges to make it stand out a little. I am really happy with the light, airy, feeling of the flowers ad the crisp blue edges. I dried the panel almost all the way with my heat tool.

After this, I splattered some gold metallic watercolor paint that was a free gift from an order from Iuile Watercolors (available on Etsy). I then added the "friend" sentiment with Memento ink in Tuxedo Black. The sentiment is from a stamp set from Recollections (they don't name their sets so I don't even know which set it is from!).
I cut the panel down slightly, and then adhered to my card base. I used a lot of adhesive on the back since the watercolor paper was a little warped but not too bad. It really adhered to my A2 sized card base nicely. No wrinkles! For a finishing touch I added a few sequins from the Picket Fence Studios "Spiked Ocean Water" set.

I am so excited to enter this into this weeks challenge! Another shout out to my friend Kim for sharing these things with me :)
