Polkadoodles Week 9 Challenge- Anything Goes
Updated: Mar 12, 2022
It has been a while since I have posted on my blog...lots of things going on over the past few months. But I am here with an entry for the week 9 Polkadoodles challenge- Anything goes, with some encouragement from my friend Kim, at Kim Kreates (KimKreates).
The inspiration behind this is my wonderful daughter, who is a nurse. I have been making tags for her to use on her med cart that when she sees them, hopefully make her smile. This one I made for March, and I used a digital image from Polkadoodles. They have such amazing images, and I knew she would like this little mouse once I colored her all up!

For the tag base, I started with a 2 1/2 x 3 1/2 wooden rectangle from Hobby Lobby. I used some green Bazzill cardstock and green gingham patterned paper (both in my scraps stash so I was glad to find a reason to use them!). I printed the image on white 110 lb. cardstock and got to coloring this cutie! I used an array of Copic and Ohuhu markers for both the mouse and the clover and added some white detail with a Sakura #10 Jelly roll pen in white.
I added some glossy accents to the little nose and waited for it to dry. I played with how I wanted to add it to the tag and then glued in place. Once I placed the adhesive letters on, I sealed the entire tag with Mod Podge. I really love how it turned out and my daughter was super excited too! I added some fuzzy white yarn so that she can put it on her med cart with a decorative clothes pin (not pictured here, because she used it for the Christmas tag I made her...but it is a clothes pin covered in green glitter and sealed with Mod Podge as well- love that she can use it for more than one holiday!).

Thank you for stopping by, and definitely check out the digital goodness over at Polkadoodles.co.uk!
