Slimline Sunflower card
Hi all! I am here today with a full-size slimline card that I made. I broke out the alcohol inks for this one! I haven't used them in a while, and I really had forgotten how much fun they were to use.

I started with a traditional slimline card base (3 1/2" by 8 1/2"). I cut a piece of Yupo paper slightly larger than this and then broke out the inks! The colors that I used for the sunflower are from Ranger Inks; Sunshine yellow and Lemonade, and for the center of the flower I used Teakwood and Caramel. I kept adding ink and using compressed air to move it to where I I wanted, adding in some alcohol blending ink when necessary. I used compressed air instead of my airbrush because one of my kitties decided it was fun to chew the hose (well I guess it is my fault for leaving it out LOL). I find I have a little more control with an airbrush but I am really pleased with how this one turned out.
Once I was happy with the placement of the petals of the flower. I put a few drops of the Teakwood and the Caramel onto an acrylic stamping block and took the end of a paintbrush and placed some dots randomly. Once they dried, I took a Tombow ABT marker, #899 (a brown), and added some fine point dots to the middle.

Once this was finished and dried, I trimmed it to the size of the card and adhered it. I wanted to stamp the sentiment right on the card, but I tried it on a practice panel, and pigment ink doesn't dry on alcohol ink, or is it the paper, not sure, but I had to go to plan B and stamp it on a piece of 110 lb. cardstock (using Versa Fine onyx black). The sentiment is from a Recollections (from Michaels) stamp set. I cut a piece of 110 lb. black cardstock slightly larger than this and adhered them together, and then put some Scotch foam tape on the back and adhered to the panel.

I am really pleased with how this turned out! Thank you for stopping by! Enjoy the day!
